Our History

Thirty-four years ago, a group of Christians gathered to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. The date was Easter Sunday, April 3, 1983, and it marked the founding of a new WELS congregation in Maumee, Ohio ... Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church. During the past 34 years, God has allowed our membership to grow and our facilities to expand. Most importantly, for 34 years the Holy Spirit has been at work in the hearts of God's people through the Means of Grace.

Our Beliefs

We are a Biblical church, basing our faith and life not on what people say, but on what God says in his Word.

We are a Christian church, proclaiming Christ Jesus as the only way to forgiveness, life, and heaven.

We are a Lutheran church, convinced that the confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church are completely Biblical and Christian.

Our Church Body

Our local church has a broader reach than just Lucas and Wood counties. Through our partnership with our national church body, we can help spread God's kingdom throughout the world. The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod is the third largest Lutheran church body in America.
